The Do’s and Don’ts of Profile Photos
Depending on who you ask, your online photo may represent anywhere from 50-90% of the impression you make with potential online dating prospects. In other words, without great photos you’ll never even get the chance to impress your dates with a winning profile.
Let’s keep this simple with three straight forward rules for a great photo and one absolute don’t that could kill your chances of building a casual or serious relationship.
Do #1: Include a Flattering Head Shot- You don’t necessarily have to take a professional head shot. But you can certainly post a head shot that paints you in the best possible light.
Do #2: Show Yourself Head to Toe- There’s got to be at least one photo that gives the full body shot. Otherwise prospects will wonder what you might be hiding.
Do #3: Include an Action Shot- Do you love to ski? Are you a fantastic chef? Show yourself enjoying your favorite activity and it brings your photos to life.
And finally… the Big Don’t!!! Overselling yourself with a photo that looks nothing like you will ruin your chances on the singles scene. Sure you may land a few extra dates. But the moment you meet face-to-face your prospect will walk out the door… wondering how else you misled them online.
